While we’re on the topic of customizations, check out these sick pics of a custom Mercedes 300SL. Built from the mid-1950s through 1963, the 300SL was the fastest car of its day and boasted novel fuel injection technology. The custom camo paint job seen below was done by Japanese all-around cult brand, BAPE (Bathing Ape [what is Bathing Ape?]).
For those of you that are having a hard time appreciating the impressiveness of this project because you’re appalled that a piece of automotive history has been defaced, you can maybe rest easy because — although I don’t have anything to substantiate this belief — I am fairly certain that the camo work done here is a foil job [more on foiling] and NOT a paint job.
