April 14, 2009URR is on Twitter…and Already Stirring Controversy
Well, Urban Road Ramblings has officially been on Twitter for about two weeks now. And, although it takes some getting used to (and we’re still finding our way), overall, we like the micro-blogging system and use it primarily to register cool road sightings when we’re out and about on the streets. I registered one such sighting last week while I was down in Florida when I saw two folks on a tandem bike in full-fledged racing gear. The sighting prompted this entry on Twitter: “couple on a tandem bicycle…wearing racing gear. never seen that before. arent tandem bikes for joyrides?”. A few hours later, I heard from Cycling_Chef, who wrote “@UrbanRoad Tandem bikes are for more than lesiurely rides! We take great joy in 70-100 mile rides up and down the hilly Pacific NW.” Cycling_Chef’s bio on Twitter: Cycling tweets from my stoker position of our Co-Motion tandem bike we call “Memphis Blue.” Needless to say, I am now following Cycling_Chef’s updates.
