A parking attendant remains in serious condition after falling three stories inside a car that crashed through the window of a Greenwich Village garage this afternoon.

Investigators say it happened around 3:15 p.m. inside a parking garage located between 12th and 13th streets on the East Side.

Officials say a parking attendant drove the vehicle through a large window inside the garage, causing it to fall about 25 feet before becoming wedged in between two buildings.

Witnesses say the driver stepped out of the car before collapsing.

“I heard just from the people who work in the building that when he first hit they could see him and they were asking if he was okay. And they said he was dazed and confused and then when they brought him out he looked unconscious and they had him all braced up,” said another witness.

The injured driver is being treated at Saint Vincent’s Hospital.

Police say charges are not likely.

The Department of Buildings says there is no structural damage to any of the buildings.
